Qi Gong
Day Long QI GONG PRACTICE Practice with Master Xiao
Qi Gong is the ancient, sacred Chinese art of moving Qi("chee) to relax and energize your body mind and spirit. The day of practice is for beginners to advanced students. The Qi Gong being taught in these practice sessions is rooted in the medical and healing traditions from the Shaolin Temple area in China. It is also used in traditional Chinese hospitals to treat various acute and chronic conditions.
Practice sessions will include:
1. The Still Form of sitting Qigong meditation
2. Taiji Qigong 18 form - flowing movements that make you strong and supple
3. Eight Pieces of Brocade - to stretch and open meridians
4. Bone Marrow Cleansing - to drive pure Qi through the bones and help prevent injury and osteoporosis.
5. Transforming Muscles and Tendons - resistance training, Chineses style to vastly increase strength and improve the health
of tendons, muscles and fascia.
6. Coiling Silk - teaches to spiral Qi through tense areas, to create relaxation, fluidity and grace.
Other practices and training will be added to meet the needs of the students present.
Specialty options for participants are the drinking of longevity tea during the day and short treatments using Tui Na and external Qi healing with Master Xiao. Traditional Chinese food is also offered.
Master Changzong Xiao was born in Henan, China. He was a Henan state certified Tui-Na doctor, acupuncture graduate, Qi Gong and Tai Chi instructor. Master Xiao was awarded third place in a national contest in China for exceptional Tai Chi. He also enjoys the performing arts and plays the Chinese violin called the Erhu.
